Who We AreKompass String Services is a company based in the New York City Area, that facilitates and provides instrumental performance, education, administration, and personnel services, specialising in string instruments including viola and violin. We provide performers for classical orchestras, theatre, pop concerts, and we curate and program performers and performances for weddings and corporate functions. We provide music education for individuals and groups, prepare students for examinations and auditions, and curate recitals. We provide administrative services, including invoicing, equipment purchases, and personnel management.

Matthew Ryan
Matthew Ryan is a New York City based violist and string teacher, performing and teaching a wide variety of chamber, orchestral, contemporary, and theatre music, and is a primary member of the Kompass Quartet and the Emo Orchestra.
Kompass Quartet
Comprised of Jessica Gehring and Jade Schoolcraft on violin, Matthew Ryan on viola, and Victoria Lin on cello, The Kompass Quartet was formed in 2023 while its members were completing their studies at New York University.
